Membre de la Fédération Française de Danse Created in 2000, the association of arts and popular traditions „La Veurdée“ is given to revive the habits and customs of southern Burgundy and Bresse. It consists of three workshops: children‘s dance, adult dance and embroidery.
We have done a great deal of research in the various museums of the region, the departmental archives of Mâcon, Dijon, the library of Tournus, and the Academy of Mâcon, as well as in old people‘s homes. We have reconstructed the costumes of the southern burgundy and Bresse . The peculiarity of our costumes is the unique hats worn only in our region.
All the costumes we wear have been made by the members of the association. You can admire the Sunday costumes of many villages in the region (some of which had never before been reconstructed) Romenay, Uchizy, Boz, Bressans of low and middle Seille, Tournus and the villages of the mountain: Royer, Brancion, Etrigny, etc. We also wear the work suits of Bresse and Burgundy.
Our program is now rich with thirty dances as well Bressanes that Bourguignonnes: chibreli, rigaudons, branles, the CORANDE of the dragon of Ormes, the 4 pertus, Saint Martin. Since 2005, we have performed in many villages and towns in the region and a lot of festivals in France: Saujon, Toulouse, Haguenau, Béziers, Villefranche de Rouergue, Saint Amand Montrond, Annecy (2008 et 2011) Megève , Dijon abroad we also participated in many festivals: Zupanja in Croatia , Zalasengrot and Magyarszék in Hungaria,
Marsico Nuovo and Aoste in Italia, Saarbrück and many times in Germany, festival CIOFF de Bursy in Poland…“
